What is it?
The Fostering Success Tax Credit allows Georgia taxpayers to redirect their state taxes to support youth aging out of foster care.
Your contribution helps provide housing, life skills, and stability—while giving you a dollar-for-dollar reduction in your state tax bill.
Example, if you owe $5,000 in Georgia state taxes, enrolling in the Fostering Success Tax Credit and contributing $5,000 to Open Door Home will reduce your Georgia tax bill to $0.

How does it work?

Corporations
Apply for Pre-Approval
Visit gtc.dor.ga.gov to create an account at the Georgia Tax Center.
Select Open Door Home as the Foster Child Support Organization.
Receive approval letter from the Georgia Department of Revenue.
Make Your Contribution
You must donate within 60 days of approval by the Georgia Department of Revenue.

Claim Your Tax Credit
Open Door Home will send you the confirmation form (IT-QFCD-FUND1) for your records.
Include form IT-QFCD-TP2 when you file your taxes to receive the credit.
