Our Mission

Providing for the needs of the dependent, neglected, and/or abused children of Northwest Georgia and helping them to live a healthier, happier and more productive life.

DONATIONS

Open Door Children's Home (ODCH) has a strong family of individual and corporate supporters who all play a vital role in ensuring children who are in need have an opportunity to live happier, healthier lives.

Many provide in-kind donations, while others support the Home through free professional services, financial donations and sponsorship of events. All supporters are gratefully acknowledged and are valued for their commitment to our children.

ODCH maintains the highest level of privacy concerning our donors' contact and fund information. Contributing individuals, corporations and organizations are published by name in Open Door Children's Home communication material and media, unless a donor chooses for the name not to be listed.

ODCH does not sell, trade, or share its donor list with any organization.

Financial

There are many ways to give to ODCH. You can send a check to the address listed on our Contact Us page. If you would like to make a stock gift, please see the instructional information below. An online giving option will be added to our Web site shortly.

Planned Giving

Gifts made through a will, charitable gift annuities, life insurance, and numerous other options continue a legacy of giving for years to come. Some people seek to share through giving methods that take into consideration their financial, tax, and estate planning objectives. If you would like to learn more about the different types of planned giving, please contact the Development Office.

Donate Stock

Electronic delivery of stock shares is the most secure and expedient delivery process available and provides efficient internal control as well as cost savings. You may also transfer certificates directly.

Gifts in Kind

Your used furniture, clothing, and other household items will not only enable you to make a tax-deductible contribution, but you will help provide necessary items for our children and facilities. Please see the needs list below. Please call our office for directions to our campus or if you have any specific questions.

ODCH Needs List:

		Clothes (in season) and shoes (all sizes and kinds)

		Toys, games, and activity sets

		Arts and crafts materials (markers, crayons, coloring books, scrap booking supplies, etc.)

		Bedding (pillows, twin and full size sheets, blankets, and comforters)

		Six foot folding tables, card tables, folding chairs

		Household furniture and items (lamps, desks, tables, chairs, etc.)

		Small appliances (toasters, mixers, etc.)

		Kitchen towels, potholders, dish towels, etc.

		Dishes, silverware, utensils, pots and pans, etc.

		Outdoor sports equipment (bicycles, helmets, balls, bats, gloves, volleyballs, tennis balls, racquets, etc.)

		Outdoor tools (rakes, lawnmowers, shovels, blowers, etc.)

		Diapers (all sizes and kinds) and baby wipes

		Cribs, bassinets, high chairs, car seats, etc.
